Happy weekend all.
It's nearly Christmas and I'm feeling quite merry. Got a Christmas tree from my mom yesterday, one of the little five footers, and brought it home, Callista and I decorated it, and listened to Christmas music together.
I am really feeling thankful this year, because I'm close to my family again. They have done a lot by welcoming Callista into the family, and making us feel right at home again. I'm quite thankful for our Twitter crew as well for giving love, support, and encouragement.
But today, I wanted to lay off the mental health stuff and get back to the basics. What this blog was meant to be about from the beginning. Our shared passion. Music.
Music has the power to help us no matter the situation. It gives us good feelings and emotions and is always at the heart of everything. No matter what, we can always go back to it. Listen to new stuff a little, while enjoying the good vibes and energy from the old days.
That's why they say it's the soundtrack to our lives.
I'll be making a new Spotify playlist in the next few days to reflect what I've been listening to of late. Mostly old stuff mixed with some newer underground stuff as well. You know it's gonna be epic. I might even post it this weekend. I'll have a DJ mix for you guys next week when I pick up my DJ equipment early next week. I've got one last load of stuff left from the old house, and once I get it unpacked, we'll be completely moved in to our apartment.
I always say to those that can't find their way past depression and anxiety and other life stressors to always find time, even just a little bit, to listen to their favorite music, even just for a little while. Music is so powerful that it takes our mind off things even just for a little while.
With us though, music lives in our hearts, minds, and souls. We live, eat, breathe, and sleep it. I'm very rarely not listening, and I'm sure the same is true for our crew. We're all music heads, and that was the first thing that we connected on and continue to connect on.
It's a shared passion. I live in a small town where very few, maybe even less, share that passion.I feel that if you're not passionate about at least one thing in life that you're not truly serving a purpose. This music thing is a constant source of good energy and positive vibes and I know you guys feel the same.
So here's one for all of you for the weekend. It's a playlist I made of all my favorite hip hop and r&b joints and is aptly titled "All My Favs." Great stuff for the weekend. Enjoy guys. Keep hollering at me on Twitter. Much love and peace to all of you.
