Let's Just Call This The Pilot Episode
Hey there guys.
For years, I have seen the demise of a lot of the blogs where hip hop history was chronicled. Whether it was stories behind classic mixtapes on Nah Right, or the blogs that posted vintage mixtapes like Undergroundhiphop.com, or just places you could go and read up on some vintage hip hop shit. So what I wanted to do was to create a blog that chronicled my experiences as a fan, as an avid purveyor of not only the music, but the entire culture that hip hop represents.
So, if you're looking for a SoundCloud link to the latest trap rapper who thinks he's the next big thing but will be forgotten about 10 minutes after you finished listening to his song (or less), then this blog is not for you. I also want to get one thing out of the way. I am not a bitter old head trying to rehash points of the culture that have been rehashed to death, but I'm looking to put a more personal touch on my own experiences with hip hop as an art form and co-opt them with some discussion of the truly crucial albums that
started my love affair with what hip hop truly represents.
So hang on tight guys.
I'm gonna take you on a helluva journey.
